Deep beneath the Earth’s surface, the last humans are
still surviving in an unfair, caste-based society, plagued by overpopulation,
famine, and the tyrannical rule of the Sectorlords. But a tunnel, flooded by
volcanic magma, a mother desperately trying to save her newborn daughter, and a
tender-hearted priest are about to unintentionally set in motion a series of
events that may one day give birth to a new hope for the men and women of
Tartarus’ endless caverns.
Many years since that day passed, Liz, the baby girl who
had been saved back then, has grown up and is now a priestess of the mother
goddess. But she still feels that she is following a path others choose for
her. Ηer eventful acquaintance with the young Sectorlord
Hector Verde will soon change her life radically, as it will become the
beginning of a forbidden love affair, leading both of them on a very dangerous
path of defiance and rebellion. Driven by their love for each other, as well as
their hope for a better future, they make enemies, not only some of the most
powerful people in their underground world but also powers that are not of this
world, that seem to have come right from the myths of the Descendance to
Tartarus.
Soon, the danger they'll face will become enormous, as
their enemies will join forces to destroy the new hope they represent; and
there is only one place, where Liz can find all the answers she seeks, to
escape the terrible future that awaits them, namely the Hall of Knowledge. Her
stepfather’s warnings are constantly in her mind, trying to discourage her from
ever going there. The Hall of Knowledge hardens the souls. It creates human
monsters. Those who get in there alive, then go out with a dead soul. But that
doesn’t change the fact that in the Hall of Knowledge, there is the sum of the wisdom of the Ancient Ones, that is the only thing that may be able to save
Humanity from its seemingly inevitable annihilation.
